The split locking collar is used behind the spring to keep tension on it. When replacing the clutch with aftermarket parts the OEM roll pin hole becomes unusable for adequate spring pressure so this is used.

If you’re upgrading your clutch spring at all, get these so you can compress the spring tighter. It will help the clutch to hold better
